I think I' m officially tired of pastas. Really..I just want non-Italian food these days.

So how about Bangers n Mash? Sounds good to me.

I looked up this recipe. Looks like it's Jamie Oliver's.

I fudged mine though..no fancy herbs, because it's hard to get them in small bunch for one meal. The onion gravy is key in this dish. Make sure you fold in a chicken stock cube and butter!

It was Fernie's birthday last Wednesday. I thought a potluck was very appropriate for this occasion. Except we didn't coordinate the time so well, so every one had to do last minute cooking, and hence, we had 4 different pastas for the night. oh and a yummy chocolate cake!

We couldn't find any candles in the apartment, but we used used finger-pretend-candles!

Hello. Just popping in to show you some thanksgiving photos.

It's a tradition to have a potluck thanksgiving dinner at our Rome studio. Gabe and his class did it too when they were here.

We set up these long tables with our studio desks in the lecture hall, and dined as a family like what people used to do back in the old days!

It was the best meal i've had since I got to Rome. Everyone was really creative with their dishes, there were even fried rice and spring rolls!

Gabe always post pictures of his meaty meals, but here I am showing you veggie meals again! haha.

I made cauliflowers with tomatoes. It's a Chinese dish, I normally eat it with rice, but because rice is so expensive and limited here, we chose to eat it with fetuccini, which was still really yummy!

Fernie made smashers on Saturday. It's a Dutch thing. She learned it when she was in Amsterdam in 8 month. There's lots of goodies in there. It's basically a giant mash potato dish with carrots, onions, and purple cabbage in it. I shall try this one out myself next time!

I gotta think what I'm going to make next. Any suggestions?

It's the first week of school, I'm not quite in the study mood yet, so Monday morning I went for a stroll around the city and ended up at Piazza di Fiori. There's a market at this piazza every morning till around the noon hours. Roman's are so much about having fresh produce every day. Gabe and I definitely haven't gone to enough fresh produce market in the summer. So now's the time!

Fruits and vegetables looks so much prettier here! I especially like how they display their produce. It makes me happy just looking at them.

What was for dinner?

Sausage and green soup! (which i often made for Gabe and I)
Spinach and potatoes were bought from the market, and the spicy Italian sausage was picked up in a grocery store on my way home.
